A delegation of PHD students from the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland visited some Ningbo enterprises and had a close contact of the Ningbo-made products.
These students are from the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland. Most of them are doctoral students. They come to the Youngsun Import and Export Co. Ltd, which is a manufacturer of home appliances and utensils. Upon entering the showroom, the students are attracted by the dazzling array of products. Most of the products go to European countries.
The Dean of Engineering and Construction of the University said: What we use everyday are made in China. For us, products made in China are indispensable.
The head of the delegation tells that their university mainly trains professionals of machinery and household appliances. Their visit this time is to learn some experience from Chinese enterprises.
It is learned that the Youngsun company exports products worth 50 million USD per year to foreign countries. They hope that through these activities, more foreign people can learn about products made in China

Unemployment made in America!
Here is a day's diary of a typical American political activist determined to do something about the horrible unemployment problem in America:
"I wake up to my alarm clock (made in China) and turn on my Toshiba TV (made in Japan) to watch the morning news and I'm startled with the growing unemployment in this country. I take my morning shower, dry myself with a Turkish towel (made in Mexico) and shave with my razor (made in China) and put on aftershave (made in France). I put on my shirt (made in Mexico) and pants (made in China). I turn on my Dell computer (made in China and assembled in Mexico) to check my e-mail and make reservations to fly to Washington, D.C. I pack my roll-aboard bag (made in Taiwan) with enough clothes for a couple of days. I'm going to our nation's capital to protest President Obama for creating such a high unemployment rate in the United States.
My wife drives me to the airport in our Toyota (made in Japan), we stop to buy gas (imported from Iran, Iraq or Libya). I get on my Motorola smart phone (made in China) to make hotel reservations on a Northwest Airline flight and I'm lucky to get a seat on an A320 Airbus (made in France).
By the time I get to the airport, I realize it probably isn't Obama creating high unemployment; it's the large companies that have been sending American jobs overseas! Those countries produce more for less money because they have no minimum wage nor environmental protection laws. I guess you could say it is these large American companies that have products made in those countries that are indirectly causing world pollution. The executives of these large companies not only pollute the world and cause high unemployment and homelessness in our country but also receive large bonuses for doing it.
Go to any large department store in America and you'd be hard pressed to find ANY "American-made" products.
I just went back home and had another cup of Columbian coffee and thought about it. I guess to America's unemployed the Free Trade Agreement isn't free after all. It comes with a price, American jobs!
